Just as seeds planted in fertile earth, now yield fragrant flowers and green leaves, the seeds that we plant in our consciousness, the intentions that are nourished in these day to day lives, also bring forth their gifts.
And we can look to the wisdom of many writers, to inquire, how do we create our lives?
What are the core principles, the gardening tools?
Donald Latumahina, at Life Optimizer, suggests creating a "life map", along with many other solid, tangible life- gardening practices.
Kathleen Gage, at Daily Awareness, describes the power of bringing awareness to our habits. On this same theme, Carrie Wolf- Brown reminds us, "Aristotle cleaned his room." Repetitive actions, thoughts and emotions leave a deep mark in the unconscious memory, in the same way that snow melting from a mountaintop, across time creates a streambed. Harness the power of habit as an ally.
Self-care strengthens our own ability to be present: Colin at Transform the Earth presents a free healing session.
A few bright ideas for nutrition are offered at Galanty's Game Plan, wheatgrass and high- energy foods can nourish insight and give us the endurance to translate this insight into action.Body- based happiness supports our roots, creating a strong foundation in this world-- through which we can build our dreams.
How we keep our mind-- what we choose to see-- moment by moment, sets the wheel of life into motion. Algernon D'Ammassa presents insight into this, through a well crafted story, Shadow of a Moth posted at Deming Zen Group.
As above, so below:
Robert Ohotto's newsletter is one of my perennial favorites, for inquiring into the principles of creation: how we transform fate into destiny. This month he focuses on the Venus Retrograde cycle which is forcing a revaluation of our collective relational achetypes. Ohotto writes,
it would seem that through both Venus and Pluto the heavens ask us to evaluate all themes relative to patriarchal systems of money management, job security, old societal marriage models, expression of sexuality and a healthy spirit of rebellion against that which thwarts our individual right to affirm ourselves both as independent and affirmed men and women.
Some other archetypally oriented astrologers weigh in on the theme of Venus Retrograde, at InHarmony and Neithnet. Dipali Desai, at Celestial Space, reminds us to expect the unexpected, with a Mars/Uranus conjunction arriving in Pisces.
Another great muse, Elizabeth Harper, describes the principles of creating our lives through the four elements, and asks, "What's on your wish list?"
Sound healing is found in all world cultures: it is a powerful, tangible force for creation. Ana Hernandez has a beautiful piece about this at her blog,
This is going to fascinate you; the Greeks said that music and astronomy were two sides of the same coin. Astronomy was seen as the study of relationships between observable, permanent, external objects, and music was seen as the study of relationships between invisible, internal, hidden objects. Music has a way of finding the big, invisible moving pieces inside our hearts and souls and helping us figure out the position of things inside us.
Creating our world essentially requires creativity: looking beyond appearances, beyond limits to see the possibilities.
On this level, Jennifer Hill Robenalt presents Well-being Q&A: Writing Down Your Soul posted at Current Living Blog
Margaret Garcia's post, One Hundred Fun, Healthy and Mostly Free Family Activities, also points to this.
Wherever you find yourself in the ten directions, wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving, know that you are connected through luminous strands of Indra's Net, great love and compassion. Whereever we are is the center of a sacred circle. By choosing to focus on compassion and peace, we can create a world of compassion and peace. This is tangible: it begins with ordinary people, you and me, and our basic sanity. This is a great time of year to envision– in image, speech, practice: what do we want to create? What seeds are we planting? And to begin, as a gift to ourselves, and to all beings, through meditation and clear action, to embody it.
Father, Mother, spin a web, whose web is the universe.
